FTL vs LTL Freight
Which Is Right for Your Business?
Full Truckload (FTL) and Less-than-Truckload (LTL) are two of the most common freight shipping methods—but they serve very different needs.
What is FTL?
FTL means your freight gets the entire truck. It's shipped directly from point A to point B which is ideal for larger shipments or those on tight schedules.
What is LTL?
With LTL, your freight shares truck-space with other shipments, moving through hubs. While that's often more cost-effective for smaller loads. It does introduce more handling and slightly slower delivery times.
When Should You Use Each?
USE CASE
CHOOSE FTL
Large, bulky loads
Time-sensitive freight
Cost-sensitive

***BCAT Recommendation - Use FTL for fragile or time-critical freight. LTL works great for routine, smaller deliveries.
